This bowl of Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup comes from a little shop across from the Sichuan restaurant in one of my earlier posts. It is south of NTU and north of the dorms. The broth is very, very rich and fatty. The pieces of beef are very tender. I kind of got weirded out by a large piece of beef because I couldn't tell whether it was tendon or tongue. I think it was tendon. Although tendon is fun to eat because it is the tissue which connects muscle to bone, fun fact, it has a bit of a strange texture. This was a very delicious bowl of beef noodle soup because it was so rich in flavor. One thing I would like in my perfect bowl is more tomato flavor. Mmmmmm, now I have to go on a quest to find the best 牛 肉麵 near NTU.

After dinner, my cousin took me to Hsinchu's night market. The one we went to was very quiet. Hardly anyone was there! Someone told us that they are closing. I'm not sure what that means. Hopefully, it can only be good.
I can still taste the garlic of this stinky tofu in my mouth. The problem with this stinky tofu was that despite being fried it wasn't terribly crispy. It also was not that strong in taste. SAD FACE. The picked cabbage and the sweet garlic soy sauce were fine.

I just wanted to make a couple recommendations of a place to get some really tasty 牛肉麵 in Taipei. There are a few various locations. The one I'm most familiar with is a bit of a ways away from Gongguan's station (公館站) since you'll have to take the MRT but, you should definitely hit up (Laodong) 老董牛肉麵. You can find one in Shuanglian's MRT stop (雙連站), I believe Exit 2 is what you want and you just walk left once you're on the street... And, you should eventually reach a 老董牛肉麵 shop.
Then, you should definitely go try out Taoyuan Street Beef Noodles (桃源街牛肉麵 tao yuan jie niu rou mian). The address is: No. 15 Taoyuan Street, Jhongjheng District, Taipei
台北市中正區桃源街15號. I don't remember the quickest way to get there but, this is a must-go for great noodles. ;]
