My Lunch

Cafeteria Food

Cafeteria food is tasty at 台大 (Taida). I have learned, however, that chives have a bit of hardness which I noted in the 水煎包 (ShuiJianBao). So, I apologize to the Shui Jian Bao people; the chives were fine. School food is cheap and tasty at just $60NT. However, the lines for food and the hoards of people everywhere heckled my fragile and confused mind.

My Dessert...

Ice, Ice, Monster...

My dessert came before my dinner today! After my orientation and campus tour, I had an afternoon snack of Chen San Ding's Fresh Milk with Brown Sugar Boba. And then, I took this FATTY nap that can only really be described as a sleep since it lasted somewhere between 3 and 5 hours! Today, my friends and I ventured to Ice Monster. Among the three of us, we shared this Red Bean ice thing that came a hidden layer of brown sugar and little pillows of taro. On the right is the fluffy mango stuff. This was good, too, though I think the red bean one has a more special flavor.

My 7-11 Dinner

Oh, thank heaven?

Seven-Elevens are magical in 台灣. There are many delicious food items to choose from, and everything is so cheap! I love that every store has this giant pot of 滷蛋 Lu Dan (soy sauce egg?). Each one is just $8NT. My vegetarian friend recommended this meal, the pork pie, at the recommendation of her friend. You pick up the pork pie ($28NT) from the refrigerated section, and you can have them nuke it in the microwave. Now, it wasn't crispy, like jian jian de, but it was very juicy and very tasty. Pressed for time, I would definitely pick this up again since 7-11 is basically a second away from the dorms.

I forgot to add that I had some sort of pork bun ($20NT) from 7-11. I had 10 minutes to run out and grab something...did not make it back in time anyway. The bun was satisfactory. No picture here, however, as I inhaled the bun during the run.
